Chengdu Chongqing High Speed Train News:
New Fuxing Trains have been firstly introduced on Chengdu-Chongqing High Speed Railway from today. With a flying speed of 350 km/h, it takes just 1 hour to get from Chengdu to Chongqing, around 1 hour shorter than before. Besides, travels can also enjoy special mute carriages, more beautiful look, more spacious seats, more comfortable environment on board. Totally, there are 79 trains that travel from Chengdu to Chongqing every day, including 8 normal trains (K, Z, T trains) and 71 High Speed Trains (G, D trains). Among the High Speed Trains, most of the G trains (not all) are about half an hour faster than D trains.
With a total length of 319km, the Chengdu Chongqing High Speed Rail is the busiest rail among southwest China. You can easily find your perfect meet trains for there are more than 70 High Speed Trains travel from Chengdu to Chongqing every day. Among all the trains, most depart from Chengdu East Railway Station(成都东站). Only two trains depart from the Chengdu Railway Station (成都站).

Location: Qingyijiang Road, Chenghua District, East Chengdu (成都市成华区青衣江路)
Chengdu East Railway Station located not far from the city center. Almost all the High Speed Trains from other cities will arrive at there. Taking the metro line 2, you can get to the Chunxi Road and Tianfu Square directly from Chengdu East Railway Station. The departure time of the trains vary from 6:43 to 21:42.

There are Chengdu North Railway Station (成都北站) and Chengdu Railway Station(成都站) in Chengdu. The former one is not available for people to travel, but for goods like coal. But for the locals, they will describe Chengdu Railway Station(成都站) as "Huochebeizhan", which sounds like Chengdu North Railway Station (成都北站) in Chinese meaning. Only two High Speed Trains available for traveling to Chongqing from here. The first Train departs at 8:15, while the last train departs at 13:33.

Every day, there are more than 27 High Speed Trains will arrive at Chongqing West Railway Station from Chengdu. All the trains depart from Chengdu East Railway Station. Chongqing West Railway Station is as luxurious as airports. For it is not that big and complex as Chongqing North Railway Station, Chongqing West Railway Station is much easier for travelers to find the exact entry point and boarding gate.

Chongqing North Railway Station is the nearest railway station to the famous tourist sites like Jiefangbei (解放碑) and Hongyadong(洪崖洞). There are more than 25 High Speed Trains from Chengdu will arrive here every day, and all the trains will arrive at the North Square of Chongqing North Station.

10 High Speed Trains will travel from Chengdu East Railway Station to Chongqing Shapingba Railway Station every day, including 4 trains depart in the morning and 6 trains depart in the afternoon. No available trains depart from other railway stations of Chengdu. All the trains are the G trains and will arrive at Shapingba Railway Station within 2 hours after departure.
Usually, there are three kinds of tickets are provided on high speed trains, Business Class Seat, First Class Seat and Second Class Seat. Second Class Seat is the most budget level you will share a row space with other passengers. And the First Class of Seat is more comfortable and quiet for those who prefer a good rest on the way. If you would like to try the most luxury and superior train travel experience, the Business Class better than the business level on airplane will shock you beyond expectation.
Foreign tourists can book train ticket online or ask help from ticket agency, or buy the tickets physically at the train station with your valid passport. One thing you should remember is to book the ticket as early as possible, especially in peak tourist seasons. After collecting the tickets, please read carefully about the train number, departure date and station to make sure you won't miss the train. If you want to cancel, alter your train tickets, you are required to bring your passport to the ticket counter and make the adjustments.

China train travel with luggage is much easier than taking flight, for you don't need to check luggage separately. Each passenger with a train ticket is allowed to carry luggage in certain weight and volume, but without limitation of amount and types. Though there are written regulation and rules about the luggage allowance, in practice, passengers can take as much luggage as you can if only you handled them properly.

You can go to the leisure and food heaven Hongya Cave, take a light rail that goes through a 11-storey block of flats, visit Three Gorges Museum, and travel up to E'ling Park and embrace the impressive panorama of Chongqing City.
